The Project

To make a large 500 bed multi-disciplinary hospital operational.
The Task:

  1. To review the Clinical Scope of Services
  2. To review the current state of readiness of the hospital.
  3. To review the current design and consider modifications.
  4. To review the equipment register and identify omissions consistent with the clinical scope of services.
  5. To develop a Commissioning Control Plan.
  6. To develop and implement a procurement programme.
  7. To develop a staffing plan.
  8. To develop Whole Hospital and Department Policies.
  9. To develop an ICT Infrastructure and HIS Plan.
  10. To make the hospital operational and safe to accept patients.

Result

  1. The Hospital was Commissioned and made ready to receive patients.
  2. Optimum Clinical Scope of Services were reviewed and agreed.
  3. Building modifications were identified, redesign was undertaken and modifications completed.
  4. Equipment deficiencies were identified and procurement programme completed.
  5. Commissioning Control Plan was developed and implemented.
  6. Staffing Plan was developed and selection, recruitment and training programmes implemented.
  7. ICT and HIS Plans were implemented.
  8. Pertinent Whole Hospital and Department Policies were developed implemented.
  9. The Hospital was made operational and achieved both CHAHI and JCI Accreditation.
