The Project
To make a large 500 bed multi-disciplinary hospital operational.
The Task:
- To review the Clinical Scope of Services
- To review the current state of readiness of the hospital.
- To review the current design and consider modifications.
- To review the equipment register and identify omissions consistent with the clinical scope of services.
- To develop a Commissioning Control Plan.
- To develop and implement a procurement programme.
- To develop a staffing plan.
- To develop Whole Hospital and Department Policies.
- To develop an ICT Infrastructure and HIS Plan.
- To make the hospital operational and safe to accept patients.
Result
- The Hospital was Commissioned and made ready to receive patients.
- Optimum Clinical Scope of Services were reviewed and agreed.
- Building modifications were identified, redesign was undertaken and modifications completed.
- Equipment deficiencies were identified and procurement programme completed.
- Commissioning Control Plan was developed and implemented.
- Staffing Plan was developed and selection, recruitment and training programmes implemented.
- ICT and HIS Plans were implemented.
- Pertinent Whole Hospital and Department Policies were developed implemented.
- The Hospital was made operational and achieved both CHAHI and JCI Accreditation.
